Shore Capital’s Humble Beginnings
Many recognize Shore Capital Partners as a $17B leader in micro-cap private equity, but few know it began very similar to a self funded search acquisition. With no dedicated fund at launch, the four founders knocked on doors, wrote letters, and searched relentlessly until they found the right capital partners – Only then did they raise $6M in equity to complete their first acquisition. After three more deals, Shore secured its first committed capital fund. Since then, the firm has refined its approach, pioneering a model of small-business investing that defines Shore Capital today.
